Techniques
1. We will only be receiving monetary donations. We want to avoid shipping of any supplies to India. We also want to avoid carrying supplies with us to the airport.
2. Since we will be taking monetary donations, we will be purchasing most of our supplies in India. we plan on negotiating a discounted rate for the products we will purchase.
3. "Green" Fundraising. No pun intended. I plan on using a "sophisticated" online fundraising tool through PAYPAL (link posted at the bottom of this message). Donations would be made using Paypal, and it would also double up and be used as another way to market Project India. More than ever, I need your support early!
4. Developing a Fundraising Committee: This is where things start to get awesome! We'll have a fundraising committee where each of the committee members will make one of those Personalized fundraising pages. By doing this, we can reach family members, friends, classmates, and many more people!
5. We are working closely with the Indian Pharmaceutical Association (IPA) here in Southern California to have a formal presentation of our project. I plan on having a print out of our project details with the link to our fundraising page for each of the IPA members to take home.
*How much money do we plan on raising?*
As much as we can! Reasonably, I strongly believe that we PHASE II needs at least $10,000 to achieve all of its goals. Whatever it may be, we want to raise as much money as we can because the success of our project depends on SUSTAINABILITY. Any extra money we have at the end of our trip will be donated to the Indian Schools to continue our efforts to raise diabetes awareness (by holding screening events) and advocate for the profession of Pharmacy.
