Goal of Project India
The goal of Project India is to raise awareness of diabetes in Ahmedabad Gujarat, India. Project India will put a concerted effort to collaborate with pharmacy students and other health professionals to organize numerous health fairs where blood glucose screenings will take place. We have gotten verbal approval by the State Health Department of Gujarat, and they are welcoming this initiative with open arms. We have also solidified a project manager located in Gujarat, India. With the help of our project manager, we will be able to reach out to the community through newspapers such as The Times of India, Gujarat Samachar, and India Today. Our project manager has also solidified locations where screenings will take place (bus stops, gymnasiums, temples, and various other locations). Project India will begin on December 15, 2010 and end in the first week of January. Your support is key to the success of this project!
We would like to start by appreciating each and every one of you for your support, ideas, and interest in Project India. As you all may know, in order to carry out such a project, we need to be able to raise funds efficiently and in a timely manner. The money raised would be used towards the purchasing of test strips, single use spring retractable lancets, glucose monitors, alcohol swabs, and cotton balls. Parth and Hovik have decided that it is now time to start actively seeking sponsors and donors.
